Donation, Refund & Cancellation Policy

Thank you for supporting Butterfly Map Haven. Your generosity helps advance our mission to provide safe transitional housing, Christ-centered support, resources, and opportunities for women and mothers rebuilding their lives after domestic violence.

Because donations are charitable gifts that may be put to use in support of our mission soon after they are received, the following policy applies to all donations made through our website.

One-Time Donations

All one-time donations made to Butterfly Map Haven are voluntary charitable contributions and are generally final and non-refundable.

By completing a donation, the donor acknowledges and agrees that:

  • The donation is made voluntarily to support the charitable mission and work of Butterfly Map Haven.
  • No goods or services are provided in exchange for the donation unless expressly stated otherwise.
  • Donations are not purchases of goods or services and therefore are not eligible for returns or exchanges.
  • Once a donation has been successfully processed, it cannot be canceled.

Donation Errors and Unauthorized Transactions

We understand that mistakes can happen. Butterfly Map Haven may review refund requests involving:

  • An incorrect donation amount entered by mistake;
  • An accidental duplicate donation;
  • A technical or processing error; or
  • A transaction that the donor believes was unauthorized.

Requests must be submitted as soon as reasonably possible after the transaction is discovered.

To request a review, please contact us at support@bmhaven.org and include:

  • The donor's name;
  • The email address used for the donation;
  • The date and amount of the donation; and
  • A brief explanation of the issue.

For security purposes, please do not send full credit card or bank account information by email.

Submitting a request does not guarantee a refund. Each request will be reviewed individually. When a refund is approved, it will be returned to the original payment method whenever possible.

Recurring Donations and Cancellations

Recurring donations may be canceled at any time before the next scheduled donation is processed.

Canceling a recurring donation will stop future charges but will not automatically refund donations that have already been processed.

To cancel or make changes to a recurring donation, donors should use the subscription management options provided through our website or contact us at support@bmhaven.org for assistance.

Please submit cancellation requests before the next scheduled processing date. Butterfly Map Haven cannot guarantee cancellation of a transaction that has already entered processing.

Designated Donations

Butterfly Map Haven makes every reasonable effort to honor a donor's stated preference for the use of a designated gift.

If a designated program, project, or need becomes fully funded, completed, unavailable, or no longer consistent with the organization's charitable needs, Butterfly Map Haven reserves the right, to the extent permitted by law, to redirect the donation to a related purpose or to the area of greatest need in furtherance of its charitable mission.

Donation Receipts and Tax Information

Donors will receive a confirmation or receipt for their donation when available through our donation and payment processing system.

Butterfly Map Haven is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Charitable contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Donors should retain their donation receipts for their records and consult a qualified tax professional regarding their individual circumstances.

Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you believe a transaction was made in error or without your authorization, we encourage you to contact us promptly at support@bmhaven.org so we can review the matter and attempt to resolve it.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

Policy Changes

Butterfly Map Haven reserves the right to update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
